8 Seater Airplane for Sale
8-seater aircraft for saleThe Why a Boeing 747-8 costs 357 million dollars - The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)
First 747-100 from Boeing Co. Launched in 1970, the first aircraft were marketed at a $24 million listing cost. Why does Boeing therefore offer the new 747-8 for 356.9 million dollars and the cargo for 357.5 million dollars? Boeing has supplied 1,487 747 aircraft since this first shipment to Pan Am in 1970.
It has 51 orders for new aircraft in its accounts, 30 for the 747-8 and 21 for the 747-8F series. The Boeing company supplied a combined 250 of the 747-100, the last one in 1986. Its successor, the 747-200, was first put into operation commercially in 1971, and Boeing supplied 393 of this aircraft before ceasing manufacturing in 1991.
747-300 followed in 1983, and 81 were supplied before 1990 shut down. Only Pratt & Whitney Pratt & Whitney engines, now part of United Technologies Inc., were available for the first 747s. and Rolls-Royce also manufactured jet engine components for the airplane. The Boeing 400 serie 747s were the only 400-seat plane on the air transport scene, and they became the best-selling 747s in the company's entire corporate heritage, with 694 units shipped since they became available in 1989.
Its 747-400 has a cruising distance of about 8,400 leagues and weights about 5,000 lbs less than its forerunner. With the 747-400 and 747-400ER still available, Boeing is trying to direct customer attention to the 747-8, which the airline heralded in 2005 and delivered the first aircraft in 2008. 747-8 is longer than 747-400 and uses the same engine and dashboard technologies as 787 Dreamliner.
Often known as the 747-8I, the Passagierversion is capable of carrying 467 people at a cruise rate of 650 mph. 747-8's cost comprises four power plants vs. two on the 787 Dreamliner and $320 million on the 777-300. The new aircraft will be 10% less weight per se and will use 11% less propellant than the A380 of its main competitor Airbus, which is capable of carrying 555 people.
Airbus A380 has a listed value of 414 million US dollars. A new 747-8 that more than doubles the inflation-adjusted cost of the genuine 747-8 is the result of the more progressive power plants, the more refined cockpit engineering and the greater load-bearing capability.
