Hawker 400 is a small twin-engine company plane. Originally conceived and constructed by Mitsubishi, it was further enhanced and upgraded by the Beech aircraft company, now part of Hawker Beechcraft. Mitsubishi in 1985 divested the assets and a number of work in progress to Beechcraft, which began producing as its own Beechcraft models, renamed the Beechjet 400 and certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in May 1986[10] Raytheon/Beechcraft introduced enhancements to the 1990 400A for longer ranges, higher take-off weight, luxurious equipment and an all-glass flying cap.
