How does it feel to own a personal plane?

Traveling 500 or less mile, the adventure and enjoyment are similar. This is an example of how beautiful privately owned airplanes are. I' m doing my pre-flight check on the plane, which will take about 15 mins. Once I have jumped into the commissioning phase, I get my permit to drive a cab or if I have applied for an instruments ride (under the control of air traffic control over the whole route), I get this permit.

I' ll be in the skies and on my way in another 15 mins.. In the meantime, since I like to go flying, I had a very nice and pleasant period on my 2 to 2h20m outing. When I begin to count from the moment I have vacated the building, another 15 to 20 minute limit is added to the maximum allowed travel per hour to the area.

When I take the airlines, I would have to go to LAX (or via or taxi). I' m due at least an hour early and I' m due an official one and a half months early. When I arrived at the gates, I usually had to sit for at least half an hour before I started to board, and another 20 to 30 min until the process was over.

Don't need me to describe the trouble on the plane by sticking my hand luggage in the ceiling, sitting down and getting on. Push-back would take place more than 30 min after beginning of entry, then cab, then start. Inside the plane the flight takes only about 40 to 45 min.

Then after the landings there is the cab to the gates, waiting for a gates and the barking procedure. This may take another 15 min if you're sitting in the back of the aircraft. Then I drive into the city and to the entrance of the offices where I do my shopping or to the hotels where I live.

So let us liken the air carrier to my own plane in my own 71-year-old propeller-driven plane. SARLINE: Home to LAX to Gate: It' s the same number of door-to-door times, although I fly at 1/3 of the airplane velocity. When I fly my old Bonanza with almost 200 mb, then I will be there in 1h 40 mins.

When I own a King Air turbo prop, I fly about 300 miles per minute and get there in an hours time. When I have a personal plane, then I am there in the same:45 min as the plane is, and I go from next to next in 2 hours 50 min. One and a half hours quicker than with the airlines.

It is always much better for a pilots to be in the same door-to-door period as the air carrier. To anyone, the elimination of the general aviation adventure, and air travel at air speed almost always hits the carrier. I' m afraid that a new age is dawning in which only the rich or the very rich will be able to fly privately.

But until this horrible end, I am thankful for the joys of flying privately.
