Between 1744 and 1945 Hue was the Vietnamese capitol when the last Kaiser resigned. The Ho Chi Minh Town ( Saigon ) is Vietnam's biggest town, commercial centre and important harbour and a must for travellers who book flights to Vietnam. Attractions include the Ho Chi Minh Town People' s Committee, Notre Dame Cathedral; the busy Ben Thanh Market (for souvenirs); Quoc Tu Pagoda; Xa-loi Pagoda; War Remnants Museum and the near reunification palace, full of NVA tanks outside.
