Weight Band was formed in 2013 in the famous Woodstock, New York Levon Helm's stable, when Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante - both former members of the band - played "Songs of The Band" with band founders Garth Hudson together with Jimmy Vivino and Byron Isaacs. In the spirit of continuing the heritage of this memorable band, Weider, Ciarlante and Isaacs, fans' favourites from The Band's catalogue, began to perform to an audience across the nation, and invited Brian Mitchell to complement their music.

Weight Band later added Albert Rogers, Michael Bram and Matt Zeiner to form their latest line-up.
