MacBook Air is more interesting than the 11-inch MacBook because it's twice as quick as its previous 11-inch, Apple says. The 13-inch MacBook Air is more priced at this rate than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina (early 2015), which also begins at £999 ($1,199/AUS$1,699).

MacBook Air offers a greater choice of connectors than the 12-inch MacBook. A MagSafe 2 socket for mains supply, a 3.0 connection for connection to your computer and a socket for headphones are located on the right side. To the right is a Thunderbolt 2 socket, another 3.0 bus and a full-size SD card socket.

This 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro doubled the number of Thunderbolt connectors in comparison to the Air and added HDMI. Sierra macro is the current 13-inch MacBook Air edition of Apple's MacBook. In the meantime Sierra has been replaced by macOS 10.13 High Sierra, although it is not included - you have to downloaded and installed it yourself, free of charge.

Not many significant enhancements have been made by High Sierra except for more safety, VR street assistance and enhancements to the Photos application. However, since you don't have to foot the bill, it' likely that the 4.8 GB match to your datacap for the new Apple File System (APFS) alone is good enough for you.

New 64-bit filesystem adds natively encrypted and accelerated set of subset operations to the spreadsheet, making MacBook Air more usable. Initially makOS Sierra will be delivered with Apple's own iWork and iLife applications, among them a modernised look for Garageband.
