Extension of a private rental or taxi license

We will send you a prolongation notice by e-mail three month before your license is due to expire. For you to be sent prolongation prompts and alerts, you will need to let us know if your account information changes. If you do not renew before your license has expired, you must be considered a new candidate.

Please provide us with a good e-mail account to make sure you receive all the memories, information and hyperlinks you need. If your request for extension is postponed because we cannot contact you, you will not be able to work if your existing license will expire during the processing of your new licenses.

You must have a valid driving licence for the latest version of the German Driving Licence (DVLA) and include your new adress. If your driving licence is not issued to your present location or if your driving licence is out of date, we cannot renew your licence. The DBS Checks and DLA Mandates - Three month before your license ends, you will be sent an e-mail with information on how to obtain a new DBS Checks and DBS Mandates.

As from 1 January 2016, all chauffeurs who renew a rental contract for a private vehicle or a taxis must have a Good Conductif licence which they have held for more than three consecutive month following the date of issue of their last driving licence or for which they have been on leave outside the United Kingdom. Doctor' s note - Driver who renew a driving licence and have attained a minimum age of 45, 50, 55 or 60 years must also present a doctor's note.

Standard Liverpool Part 2 Certificate - we no longer issue provisional driving licences to riders who have not attended this course. When you are over 65 years old, you must renew your license every year. If your contacts are up to date, we will email you a renew request at least four week before your license expires.

When your triennial DBS checks also need to be finalized, you will be notified by our authorized Personnel Checks partners 12 week before your license expires. How soon can I request my license? Once you have received an e-mail informing you that your new DBS certification has been received by mail, you will also be sent a shortcut to the on-line DBS Extension Forms.

Registrations must be made 21 workingdays before the expiration of your old fee or as soon as you have received your certification. We no longer issue licenses, so if you do not submit your request in a timely manner, you may be without a license while processing your request and may not be able to work. When we are pleased that all your cheques and paperwork are up to date and clear, we will make out your license on that date. Remember: We cannot grant your new license unless you provide your own personal document that has the right to process with you. See the fee schedule for renewal of your license.

When you are sentenced for a criminal offense while holding a license, you must notify us within five working day by filling out a report request and sending it back to us by registered mail: Liverpool City Council, Cunard Building, Water St, 3 LQX or by transfer to a One Stop Shop.

It is also necessary to request a new DBS as soon as you have received your first warning from us, three month before your existing license is due to expire. Once you have received the new DBS certification, please mail it to us so that the Licensing Committee has sufficient urgency to review the new findings.
