As early as 1974, Snecma (Safran) and General Electric (GE) founded a 50/50 common enterprise, CFM International, to create a revolution in civil aviation engines. Proven to be a model of cross-border cooperation, this Franco-American relationship led to the CFM56, the world's best-selling aerostructure, the Boeing 737 and Airbus A 320 engines.
CFM's track record at a glance: more than 31,000 jet units manufactured, a CFM56 powered airplane that takes off anywhere in the globe every 2 seconds - with these airplanes transporting more than 7 million daily passenger!
