Taxi Hotel
Taxicab HotelSo I left my expensive Manhattan flat for two night and tried it out. The things that made the edit were: work clothing, a few toilet articles, two flannels, an additional cover, hand-held loudspeakers, a notebook, a booklet, and Melatonin to help me get some sleep. Also, there were some things I wanted to do. From Manhattan we made the one-way trip to Long Island City, Queens, where we found our home for the next two night, parking on this cul-de-sac.
Look at the Manhattan sky line! Here is the panorama from the front seats (and no, you can't take a taxi). In our first overnight there we ordered Seamless and cheered Finding Nemo on. Our dinner came in (right to our window!) and it was really getting cold outside, so we had dinner inside. There was a flaw that the persistent flavour of roasted traveler reminds us of the whole middle of the day.
As it was sleeping hour, I quickly realised it was going to be a long one. No more than eight sleeping hours in the course of the two evenings, despite the molatonin. Unless you don't care about offering up your sleeping space (and if you don't come too long), a taxi might be a good choice if you want to make NYC cheaper.
However, it takes a great deal of advance planing if you don't have amenities like a power socket or a bath room - you have to take all your days to recharge electronic equipment in cafés and find open plan showers.
