From Anchorage we travel to Port of Whittier to undertake our Norwegian Sun cruises on 05 August 2013. Is it going to be less expensive to take the taxi or the bus transfer? From Anchorage to Port of Whittier there will be 5 of us. Is a taxi always available or do you need to book it first?

We just took the last cruises we were on off the boat with our baggage and took a taxi on the kerbstone, and we were gone! Anyone here have any advise on transporting Whittier to Anchorage? From Whittier we decided to make another tour for the journey to Anchorage.

Portage Lake Glacier and Wildlife Center trip departs from Anchorage at 2 pm, and as we have a short after 8 pm departure, we still have some spare tiredness. It is about twice as expensive as the regular transfers, but gives us a bit more landscape before we board the airplane home.

As our departures are always very delayed outside Anchorage (usually around midnight), we hired a rental vehicle and payed the dropping fee in Anchorage.

It was a pleasure when the Princess anchored in Seward and we are now heading there from Whittier...it is a wonderful ride and we can still take Exit Glacier outside Seward. Whittier is aware that the only way between Whittier and the remainder of Alaska is a one-way train line, which is used by both car and train. Given how small the city is, I don't think they'll have any cabs to get you to Anchorage.
