Uber Taxi India
About Taxi IndiaWhen you arrived at the destination, you could take a pre-paid taxi or be picked up from your accommodation, both of which are better than taking a taxi outside the destination. Then I found out that the government's pre-paid taxis often robbed me, and I quit using them and instead used MERU or other cabs that sent you into one of their metered drivers' wagons instead of pre-paid.
But Uber is here now and actually has been for a few years. Can' t use it often because it' not in Goa, and I would appreciate that there is no way it will ever happen. Like in Canggu, Bali, taxi riders in Goa would never allow Uber to come to their cities.
Transport in Goa is a little different from the remainder of India. Shall you use Uber to travel alone to India? Frankly, I see no distinction between using Uber, MERU, Governments taxi or jump into a casual taxi in India. Whilst the backgrounds are not always checked as they should be, and although Uber should be more reliable, the incidents showed that it was not the case when a lady was violated by her Delhi rider.
He forbade Uber later because he had not carried out thorough inspections. _GO ( Not that prohibition is a big business, because in India it's a laugh about what the next prohibition will be: veal, Pornos, bikinis in Goa, PDA, being homosexual, shop window dummies in underwear, promoting liquor (brands have some fun ways to circumvent this), and the film 50 hues of gray to name a few).
About says they've made things safe, so about might be a safe choice, but in reality it's just coincidence, right? I' m not using Uber for security reasons, but because handling an application is simpler than standing in line at a taxi rank.
Besides, I sometimes forgot to have my money at my fingertips! The first time I used it here, my Uber worked well. Later, when I removed and newly deployed the application, I noticed that the login (in India) was different. It is recommended to have Uber set up at home before travelling to India. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can decide to make a payment in real time.
Just go to your preferences and select either your currency or your credit cards. However, if you favor money, it's an optional. The first time Uber came to India, it was only a map as it is in most places. It was the first place in India where it was possible to make a payment in money for a Uber that was tested in Hyderabad in 2015.
From a technical point of view, tips are factored into the fare, and in India it is not common to tip drivers for shorter journeys (except for rounded up and saying "keep the change"), so there is no need to tip if you are paying with a credit note. It'?s good not to take your money for changing when you make your payment in hard currency.
There may be a pick-up area at an airport in the USA that is clearly signposted. This is unlikely to be the case at India airport. You' ll need a working SIM in India to speak to the rider and see where you want to go.
Anglophone is widely used in India, but some riders do not use it. There won't be any Rickshaw about, it'll be automobiles. If you come to the vehicle, check the licence number and ask the chauffeur to show you the journey on his mobile number. One never knows what kind of fraud might be pulling off them, so better to make sure you have the true over-driver.
Uber should have a picture of the man, a licence number and a make of automobile. I' m not getting in a fucking automobile in India unless it's the same type. You' ll get chauffeurs who call you off. A lot of riders also work for OLA (the India based Uber version) and will call it off if something better comes up.
Like I said before, there are places where Uber is not actively involved because the locals will not allow it. But there are places where about is actively happening that the locals are NOT lucky about it and there are sometimes fights/violence. If you take a Uber, don't announce it.
Don't tell the motel it's about or anyone else. They' re not marked vehicles, so just act like it's a boyfriend or a rider you have on call. Silence keeps you and your over-driver away from all problems with angry natives. Again, I have used Uber throughout India and never had a problem, but it happens.
