Delta's meteorology staff at the airline's Operations and Customer Center continues to closely follow the planned route of Hurricane Florence on its way to the North Carolina coast. Pending the Florence arrivals, the airline has added towns and extended its waiving of market access from Savannah, Ga.
CHO and has also introduced an exemption from the charge for hold luggage for clients from selected states. From 10 to 17 September Delta also waives pets in cabins to and from selected towns. We do not accept this declaration for clients travelling to, from or through these towns to make changes to their currently scheduled flight without paying a modification charge.
Most likely, the wind will land later on Thursday evening or early Friday mornings, and is likely to stay in the area throughout the entire week, dropping significant quantities of precipitation before heading out into the interior on Monday next. From about 12:30 p.m. Hurricane Florence made its way through the southwest Atlantic, about 400 leagues southern of Bermuda and 900 leagues eastern of North Carolina, which moved in a west-northwest Category 4 wind direction as a Category 4 windstorm with wind speeds of almost 150 leagues per second.
Resolutions on cancellation or other disruption at airport locations along the southeast coast are anticipated about 24 hrs before the onshore wind blows. Besides the disruption of flights due to the effects of the wind storm, cancellation can also be due to airport terrain in Florence, such as heavy floods, blackouts or other infrastructural restrictions.

Delta's Operations and Customer Center staff are watching Hurricane Florence move westward and northeast toward the east coast of the United States.
Airline's meteorological crew has been monitoring the wind since its first development in the Atlantic last weekend, leading to meteorological problems on routes between the US and Africa. Long-term projections suggest that Hurricane Florence will intensify and accelerate as it heads westwards towards the east coast of the US.
Previous predictions followed the tempest that spread eastward from Bermuda and kept it in the ocean. The centre of Florence will move over the hot water of the southwest Atlantic on the forecasting runway until Wednesday and will probably land in the early Friday mornings of the next following weeks on Thursday evening.
It is too early at this stage to know the precise site, size and date of the effects of Florence on the airport and municipalities served by Delta. As a rule, this degree of detail is more foreseeable within 48 h after arrival at the shore-side windstorm. Delta's weather teams use a mix of satellites and a series of windstorm patterns developed by governments around the world to track trend.
