I emailed a person asking for a consolidate air route map, and I thought it might help to divide what I found. When I am in an airplane, I always read the route charts - even if it is a 1 hr long one. It' s kind of great to dream about my next journey and see where my mileage can take me!
Also, I tear the cards out of the magazines (maybe I should just take the whole magazines and replace them) and take them home so I can place them on the dinner tables and read them. It is very important to know on which route airline companies are flying while you are trying to cash your mileage.
This is because you can always take a look at the airline affiliates and considerably increase your possibilities when using your mileage. If you have United mileage, for example, you can also use it on flights with Star Alliance carriers such as Lufthansa, Swiss or Thai. Say you want to go from Bangkok to Frankfurt.
Rather than just viewing from Bangkok, view from Bangkok to another Asiatic town, such as Delhi, and from that other town (Delhi) to your final location (Frankfurt). The Airline Route Map has a simple user friendly screen (see picture above) and you simply click on the airline you are looking for to find route charts.
What I liked was that you could look for hubs, partners and destinations. But I didn't like the fact that the route lists didn't seem to be up to date. Kingfisher Airlines, for example, was not mentioned in the section about India. Cockpitvisit on FlyerTalk has created the Airline Route Mapper utility, which is a utility for the best of you.
This is a very large and extensive list of 650 carriers, but could initially be somewhat scare. The OpenFlights is a practical utility to find out all flight connections from a particular area. Simply enter the name of the airline into the field and then click on the route to find out more about the airline operating the route.
My guess is that you will get the most up-to-date information on airline web sites, but it is difficult to manipulate several cards in different browser. If you know other useful utilities to see flight paths, please leave a message!
