I was supposed to go from Singapore to Sydney, for example, but postpone my trip because I wanted to stay longer in Asia. What does an RTW ticket costs? A lot of variable factors influence the costs of an RTW trip, including the cabin in which you are flying, the number of miles traveled (on Star Alliance), the number of sectors or continents visited, the number of stops you make, and the country you are visiting.

Around the world ticketing can begin from £1250+ for something simple like UK > Dubai > Auckland > Los Angeles > UK and increase costs along with increasing sophistication. Sitting in a Singapore hostel (The InnCrowd in Little India, great place), I didn't get the feeling I was done with Asia yet. Indonesia was starting to come to my mind, but much of it was still recovered from an earth quake.

They had a fl ash sales on Singapore to Bali planes.... it turned out that they are returning £30!!! I postponed my trip around the world and went to Bali for one whole weekend to go surfing and partying.

After that I went back to Singapore and boarded my next plane to Australia the next one. Low cost carriers really open the door for you if you want to travel within a particular county or area. I had my own Round the World ticket which involved a plane to Sydney and from Melbourne. Actually, what really did happen was that I traveled up the coastline, from Cairns to Melbourne, back to Sydney, to Adelaide and then to Melbourne to go to New Zealand.

Just think, I would have tried to put those planes on my round-the-world ticket! Below are a few low cost carriers that you should consider in your world maps.
