Operation of the facility took place between April 2011 and September 2012. Once operations were discontinued, the individual streamline jet was given back to the remainder of the CAT family. During 2014, an air carrier called ViaAir, held by the same parent as CAT, commenced operations of the planned Essential Air services from Raleigh County Memorial Airport in Beckley, West Virginia to Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Started also with a seasonally non-subsidized Charlotte to Northeast Florida Regional Airport facility. ViaAir services are operated with Charter Air Transport Embraer E-120s.
