The Cinnamon Air is getting ready for the Oneworld Trade Lift.

Cinnamon Air, the Sri Lankan based carrier, anticipates a significant increase in air travel as a result of the latest step by its code share partners Sri Lankan Airlines into the Oneworld Aviation Group. Cinnamon, which is part of the Safron Aviation JV, which consists of John Keels Holdings, MMBL Leisure Holdings and Phoenix Ventures, provides internal air travel in the Southern Asia region and charters.

Safran Aviation Director Romesh David said Cinnamon's air travel could increase "exponentially" because of the link between SriLankan Airlines' global airline networks and those of Oneworld airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways. Today, Cinnamon's Cessna 208 Grand Caravan has only two fleets - one of which is designed for amphibian operation.

The Cinnamon Air charter fleet, which mainly operates sightseeing tours and serves tourism attractions, accounts for approximately 40 per cent of the company's total charter traffic. Zimt has to bring with it spare parts valued at around 500,000 US dollars in order not to have to spend up to six waitingdays for the delivery of spare parts.
