How to Fly around the World
Flying around the world9 an hour to fly this plane:
When you are able to steal this airplane from the museums, you can travel around the world for only 11.3 hours: It will take you 10hrs to buy this airplane from Richard Branson: When you travel with this "plane", it takes you 2.27 hour to circumnavigate the world: Steve Fossett's 67 hour flight in 2005 with the help of Richard Branson in an airplane constructed by Burt Rutan of Globalflyer based SCA.
In the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer Steve Fossett was flying around the world in 67 hrs, non-stop and without gas. And he also made the first ever single-ballon flight around the world. Suppose you have a magic endless supply of petrol, it really does depend on the aircraft. This means that it would be possible to go around the world in about 35.67hrs.
But another level slightly surpasses this period. That means the SR-71 could be traveling the world: It would take ~32.4 hours for a 1,235 kmh* ultrasonic jet to fly around the world. This is not practical at the moment, as there is no glider that can cover this route without refuelling. Transporting a large amount of petrol would increase the overall mass and necessitate bigger planes, which in turn would need more petrol and so on.
It would only take 6.5 hrs to fly a supersonic airplane at 6,150 km/h**! "The Rutan Model 76 Voyager was the first airplane to fly around the world without a stop or refuel. Aeroplane travelled west 26,366 mile ( 42,432 km; 40,212 km certified by FAI) at an mean elevation of 11,000 ft ( 3,350 m)".
