Whereody Allen' s latest movie, A Rainy Day in New York, was suspended after Amazon Studios seemed to postpone it for an indefinite period. Amazon, which in 2016 entered into a five-film contract with the filmmaker, fought to find a broad cinema distributor for its earlier offer, Wonder Wheel, after the press re-focused on a claim of sex violence made in 1992 by its then seven-year-old adopted subsidiary Dylan Farrow.

Allen' always rejected the demand. Source suggests that abandoning the Amazon movie could be $25 million (£19 million). In the midst of increasing official backing for the #MeToo motion, Chalamet and Gomez said they were sorry to work on the movie.
