Cessna was founded in 1927 by the agriculturist Clyde Cessna and was initially known for the production of small reciprocating and turbo-prop aeroplanes. Later Cessna began producing a line of corporate aeroplanes. Cessna' s corporate jet fleet is manufactured under the trade name "Citation". Citation Mustang ( 4 seater, 1207 nm range) - small and perfect shaped, it is our most favourite small jet and has shown significant expansion in the EU charters sector as a low priced "Air Taxi".
The Cessna also bears the Citation XL/XLS/XLS+ (seats 8, 2111 nm range), the world's best-selling private jet. Cessna' s biggest and quickest jet currently in manufacturing is the Citation X+ (seats 8, 3430 nm region with a Mach 0.935 velocity).
It is currently the officially quickest civil airplane in the skies that only brings the G650 of its competitor Gulfstream to the pole. In the background are both the Sovereign seat (seats 8, 2643 nm range) and Cessna's latest version, the Latitude. At the end of 2015, The Latitude (8 seating places, 2,850 nm range) was offered for charters and has the highest and broadest cubicle for citations to date.
Cessna will push the reach and magnitude barriers further upwards in the coming years with the publication of the Citation Longitude (seats 8, reach 3,400 nm) and the Citation Hemisphere (seats 12, reach 4,500 nm) - when they come onto the markets in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
The Denali Cessna's new Single Engine Turboprop (SETP) is also under construction, but at the other end of the range. The maiden voyage is scheduled for 2018. It is the third biggest aerospace company (after Airbus and Boeing). Following the takeover of the Learjet Company in 1990, Bombardier went into the corporate jet world.
The company produces a broad spectrum of corporate jetliners, among them the Global Express series. It was the first specially developed commercial jet that could travel between any two points in the world with just one refueling stop - like New York to Tokyo or Paris to Singapore.
Deluxe and roomy, the cab offers extraordinary levels of luxury and intimacy for long overseas travel, with full suite beds, a rear living/bedroom and two en-suite facilities, plus en-suite facilities. Our latest flag ship is the improved Globe 6000 (seats up to 19, 6000 nm range) and its slightly smaller twin Globe 5000.
Below in the lighter line-up, they also manufacture a variety of mid-size jetliners - the Challenger 300 series. Learjet is Bombardier's smallest jet fleet for medium and lightweight passenger planes with room for up to 8 people. While Cessna has been dominating this segment of the industry since the 90s, Bombardier reacted by launching the revised and upgraded Learjet 70 and 75 in 2014.
Embraer Executive Jets, the Brasilian producer, is the new child in the jet family. Sao Paulo was founded in 1969 by the Brazil authorities to manufacture airplanes for armed forces and passenger transport, but only entered the private aerospace sector in 2002 with the introduction of the Legacy. With Bombardier, it is now competing for the third biggest slice of the world production pyramid.
Embraer's Legacy 600 (13 seating, 3250 nm range) was a great hit in the long haul segment - a very cost-effective solution for purchasers built on an Embraer aircraft outline. Subsequently, it expanded the footprint and reach upwards with the Legacy 650 (seats 14, 3900 nm range) and slightly downwards with the Legacy 450 (seats 7, 2500 nm range) and the Legacy 500 (seats 8, 3000 nm range) to the mid-size class available last summers.
The Embraer VLJ (Very Light Jet) segment is also growing, with the Phenom 100 (Seats 4, 1078 nm range) providing slightly more room and styling than its competitor Cessna's Mustang. As elegant as it is larger, the Phenom 300 closes the gulf between small and mid-size jet, offers 7 seated passengers and a reach of 1800 nm.
Lineage 1000 (19 seater, 4600 nm range) is Embraer's largest commercial jet and has one of the largest and most luxury executive cabin VIPs on the Market. It is reported that the airline is considering broadening its offer in the ultra-long-range jet segment and taking over the shares of major jet rival Gulfstream and Bombardier.
Gulfstream developed from the Grumman manufacturer of airliners and became known as Gulfstream in 1968 when it focused on corporate jetliners. Some medium size jumpers like the G200 and G450 have been made. However, its name today is tantamount to its bigger, more spacious jetliners - with their striking broad, elliptical outlines.
When the GV (G5) was introduced to the market in the 90s, it was the world's first ultra-long-range jet with a reach of 6,500 nm and 14 seats. Since then Gulfstream has produced the similarly large models such as the 500, 550 and most recently the 650 and its extended-range version, the 650ER.
With the Cessna Citation X+, the 650ER is head-to-head in airspeed with a cruising rate of 0.9 Mg, but at 7,500 nm offers the longest possible cruising distance of all corporate jets. Gulfstream in 2014 heralded the launch of new twin-engine planes, the 500 and 600, which will further enhance the long haul jet class in terms of fuel economy and convenience.
In 1932, the Beech Corporation began as the Beechcraft Corporation, with Wichita-based entrepreneurs Walter H. and Olive Ann Beech producing popular turbo-prop and reciprocating jets. In recent years, there have been several fusions and changes of control, among them the cooperation with the Hawker jet owner Raytheon Aircraft. The Beechcraft Group manufactures the world's best-known turbo prop, the King Air, which celebrates its fiftieth birthday in 2014.
King has been very succesful especially in the USA as a corporate jet, emergency jet and local jet. Space for 5 to 9 occupants and a flying distance of 1500 nm at a much lower cost than a jet. Hawker Jet is a line of mid-size corporate jet models and favorite models are the mid-size Hawker 900/900XP (seats 9, 2500 nm range), Hawker 800/800XP (seats 8, 2300 nm range) and the lightweight Hawker 700 XP (seats 8, 1960 nm range).
Dassault, the francophone maker, was established in 1929 by Marcel Dassault. The Paris-based firm manufactured combat aircraft for the armed forces before switching to commercial aircraft in 1963. The first jet was Mystère 20, which was finally converted into Falcon 20 to make the name more attractive outside France.
Falcon 2000 is currently the most beloved Falcon in the charters sector with a trans-continental area of over 3,000 nm. Falcon 900 is an impressing and classy long haul jet with an unprecedented triple beam design that offers a 5,000 nm reach and up to 12 seat capacity. The Falcon 7X (13 seater, 5,950 nm range) and the longer Falcon 8X (500 nm flying) are Dassault's latest flagship ultra-long-haul aircraft - approaching the ranges of Gulfstream and Bombardier's Big Jet competitors and connecting most of the world's best urban pair.
Falcon 5X (14 seater, 5,200 nm range) is also under design and is now scheduled to go into operation in 2020 after Dassault announces a delay in its Silvercrest drive innovations. Boeing, the US aerospace and defence tycoon known primarily as an aircraft maker, joined the corporate jet aircraft sector in the end of the 90s.
The Boeing Group used its current airframe to develop the Boeing Business Jet (known as BBJ) family. Its first market introduction was on the 737, with modification and luxurious inside styling to offer what is considered the world's biggest and most coveted private jet used by government and VVIPs.
According to the model, it offers space for up to 30 persons and with a reach of more than 6,000 nm it competes with most other extremely long-range corporate jet aircraft. As Boeing, the European aerospace powerhouse Airbus SAS is apparently the best known producer of passenger aircraft, among them the largest in the whole wide variety of aircraft, the A380.
Headquartered in Toulouse, France, the firm has a second large production facility in Hamburg. Airbus mirrored the development of its competitor Boeing and began production of executive aircraft in 1997, transforming them into very large and luxury executive aircraft. ACJ318, ACJ319, ACJ320 and ACJ321 are the most widely used aircraft produced by Airbus.
Usually they provide space for 15 to 50 persons and provide a spectral response of almost 6,000 nm. You are not sure which airplane or which producer is best suited for your trip? Check out our airline team to help you benchmark your rates and pricing from our dedicated worldwide team.
