Round a World Ticket
Bypass a world ticketBefore you can satisfactorily complete this form, you must choose a route and timeframe. And if your route is very easy - from hubs to hubs to hubs - you can probably put together a set of one-ways that are competitively priced with alliance-based RTWs.
Very few in the world want to go to Easter Island, so there are no low-cost airlines that will take you there for fifty pounds. No low fare airlines offer flights from Nairobi to Cape Town or from Sydney to Rio, so a schedule that includes such a route will immediately run into budgetary difficulties without using an RTW ticket.
Determine where, when, and for how long you want to travel, and then look for flight options that suit your needs instead of creating a travel route on the basis of yourfare.
The Thorn Tree - Around the World Ticket
I and my prospective spouse are scheduling an 8 to 12-month "Around the World" holiday from Europe (leading to various Asian nations, Oz+NZ, California and California). We' re currently looking for the best way to make reservations. Right now we're looking at a few choices, but none of them fit perfect to what we wanted.
Our option is to travel the major "big" cities with Star Alliance Round the World and buy the smaller ones (mainly in Asia) with small carriers like Air Asia. Are you recommending a particular Round the World ticket that I may have forgotten and that is relatively inexpensive and convenient with appointments?
Am I right in assuming that last minute flight bookings with Air Asia are totally in order? Finally, do you have any other hints you can use to help you book a flight for such a long journey with different goals? Right now we're looking at a few choices, but none of them fit perfect to what we wanted.
Our option is to travel the major "big" cities with Star Alliance Round the World and buy the smaller ones (mainly in Asia) with small carriers like Air Asia. Please try to make as many bookings as possible for your trip. Most RTW fares still include a fee for changes to ticket data.
Am I right in assuming that last minute flight bookings with Air Asia are totally in order? AirAsia offers very competitive rates for every AirAsia reservation. However, if you make a reservation 3-4 week in advanced, you can often get ludicrously low rates. Generally, OW Explorer is much more useful than Star Alliance RTW because Star Alliance is restricted to 37,000 mile, OW is not.
Please be aware that if you travel from Europe, OW Explorer rates are much lower if you travel from Cairo and purchase your ticket. It is necessary to include the extra costs for a seperate ticket to get to Cairo, but under RTW these costs are not so high.
Suppose you are booking OT and are on a budgetary base, then your tariff base is LotEx with x=number of continent.
