Order for the first of six new A330-300s placed with SriLankan Airlines
The SriLankan Airlines, the Sri Lankan Airlines airline, has taken over its first A330-300, which has become a new airline for this model. Coming to Colombo International Airport in Toulouse, France, the wide-body completes the current Airbus aircraft portfolio of Airbus A320, A321, A330-200 and A340-300. Sri Lanka will receive a further five A330-300s.
The A330 Family, which comprises 200 to 440 passengers and comprises the Freighter, VIP and Military Transport/Tanker versions, has now received more than 1,300 orders. More than 1,100 planes fly with more than 100 carriers around the globe. One of the most economical aeroplanes in the industry, the A330 offers the best operational economy in its category.
The A330 Family will remain the most cost-effective and powerful wide-body airliner with an average operating safety of over 99 per cent, with many ongoing improvements to be implemented in the years ahead, such as the more powerful 242 ton take-off mass version (both A330-200 and A330-300), the A330 for local and long-haul flights and the new A330.

According to the airlines of the Oneworld-Allianz, the guy had his last operation on the Chennai-Colombo line on January 7. Launched in September 1994, the A340s replace the airline's long-standing Lockheed L-1011 TriStars.
In addition to providing passengerservices, the company added that this aircraft was also used to carry relief supplies to Sri Lanka following the 2004 Indian Oceansunami. In 2015, the carrier gradually reduced its aircraft portfolio by adding A330-300s to its family. Meanwhile, FLETS Analyzer shows that the carrier has also ordered seven A350-900s and two A321s.
