In Paris, it is very frequent to have to switch from one railway to another. Therefore, we have put together a timetable of recommended journeys and recommended timetables for transfers from Paris railway to Paris. Paris railway stops are all identified as terminal stops. If, for example, you are travelling by rail from London to Nice, you will have to switch from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon.
If this is the case, you will usually receive between 50 mins and 2 mins for the transmission. And if you want to customise your connecting times and stay in Paris for a few extra lessons or an night, you can always simply buy two different ticket deals. Gare du Nord is not named after the position of the railway yard (it is located in the tenth district - 18 Rue Dunkerque, 75010), but rather for the targets it services.
From Gare du Nord there are connections to France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. Basically anywhere just North of Paris. Situated on the northern banks of the Seine in the twelfth arrodissement of Paris. Like all other Paris stops, the name Gare de Lyon is not derived from its position (otherwise it would of course be in Lyon!). Rather, it is called after the town of Lyon, as most train services will run via Lyon to southern and east France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Spain.

East Station (Gare de l'Est) is one of the largest and oldest (est. 1849) railway station in Paris. You will find it in the district of 10, near the northern gate (Place du Novembre 1918, 75010). As with all Paris train stops, the name is derived from the direction of the leaving train and not from its location.
In other words, all those coming from East France (TGV trains) and Germany (ICE services run by a cooperation line between Deutsche Bahn and SNCF). Austerlitz Station is one of the largest terminal train stops in Paris. Situated on the banks of the Seine on the leftside in the thirteenth district (85 Quai d'Austerlitz). One of the less frequented train stops in Paris, it only handles about 30 million people a year.
From now on these trams leave Lyon several days a week from Paris to Barcelona. Most of the transport of Austerlitz can now be seen from the Intercités de Nuit overnight railway. Note that taxi fares are purely approximate, as are journey time.

The Gare Saint Lazare is the second largest railway in Paris. Like everything else in Paris, Saint Lazare is an architectonic tenner and many, many years old with a wealth of story behind it.
