Airport Town Taxi

Taxi's are measured. From the airport you can take any taxi, only serious businesses are permitted to work there.

In July my boyfriend and I were on the road and it took us 15 Euro to our guesthouse, L'Ermitage and 10 Euro back. Starting 1 Sept a tramway will be open from the airport to the inner town. It' s no different than line 2, but I would take the streetcar during peak hours on a weekday night because it has its own track.

There is now a streetcar that will take you directly from the airport to the old town. $2, new and beautiful streetcars. Instead of a taxi I took the Uber to/from the airport to/from the old town area. Altogether I took 4 races and all riders talked English enough.

You must admit that the taxi scene in Mykonos is becoming silly. I drove to the island's major taxi stand, Remezzo, to take a taxi to the airport last fortnight. Permitted 15 minute wait. Twenty-five hours later not a taxi had arrived and many other passengers were there. Attempted to call the taxi bureau - if you get through (usually not), you will be held on hold for 5 mins or more (no kidding with online rates).

No taxis still 35 min after my arrival and just about to miss my plane. Surprisingly, a rental company next to the tier saw my problems (and those of several other people) and just in case they did, took us to the airport to make our plane. He' arriving at the New Port this evening with a load of baggage.

Spend over half an hours phoning the taxi bureau - the common way of not getting through being put on ice for 5 mins at a stretch and then hanging up said that no taxi will be available in 5 mins after 7 mins call back and said call back in another 5 mins.

Twenty-one cabins are not enough. You say, what will taxi riders do in cold weather when there are more taxi riders? That'?s a laugh! From May to September, the easy way is to license more taxis. At least a thought here - "We despise Mykonos Cabs!!!!!!"
