Alaska Airlines information
About Alaska AirlinesHelena Regional Airport | Alaska Airlines
The Montana driving licence currently does not fulfil the requirements of the "REAL ID" state. National travellers, however, will not be obliged to comply with these requirements until October 2018. Up-to-date information on the REALE ID can be found on the TSA website. Passenger checks must be carried out at least 40 min before departing. Baggage must be presented at the counter at least 40 min before take-off.
The passenger should go through the security check immediately after check-in. The passenger must be present at the boarding gate 30 min before the flight.
Alaska Airlines - December 2017/January 2018: Flight fleet upgrades and innovations
In August, Alaska Airlines and Gogo entered into an alliance to complement the 2Ku spacecraft interconnection services to a 218 Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 expanding family. It is just one of the new technology that the company intends to deploy in its aircraft from 2018, as the company currently has several uniquely designed upgrades and testing capabilities.
Thus, for example, the carrier conducts tests to assess the use of NASA's TASAR application Queue TASAR (Traffic Action Strategic Aircrew Requests). The TASAR was developed to enable crew members to make choices about changes of path in aircraft operations by using near real-time meteorological information, SAR information and air space situation and air travel data. NASA's study of 1,600 Alaska Airlines routes shows that accessing this kind of dynamical air space information and alternate paths proposed by TASAR could help the firm reduce its annual consumption of 1 million galons of petrol and 110,000 minute flying times.
In switching to new technologies, Bret Peyton, Alaska Airlines' Naval Aviation Technologies Manager, said he was discussing the following three issues: Is your security and regulatory compliancy enhanced by your technologies? Will it help our operations achieve performance, dependability, guest experiences and on-time arrival? Supports NextGen's next generation sky projection?
The preparations for the launch of a new 2Ku air carrier can only be seen by the general aviation community as a new graphical environment with a much quicker connectivity. However, the airline's launch history is quite different, as from an organisational point of view it has to switch to the services in order to make them ready for operation by air travelers and crew.
Whilst Alaska' s 737 and A320 cabin occupants will enjoy the benefits of streamed videos and a more smooth web browsing environment, Alaska Airlines will have its own internal advantage. 3Ku can improve the operation for pilot, service technician and other persons associated with the company's air traffic department.
Recently Alaska has tested the use of various different types of EVB softwares for turbo updates and found that the pilot letter from WSI is the best use. It also noted that the aircraft power plant surveillance system and FOQA can be down-loaded over IP. Many of us use AACARS, but it's an old tech, and IP offers a way that's more scaleable in the future," he went on.
The Alaska Airlines Group is the first provider of performance-based navigational services (PBN) to the merchant aviation community to pioneer RNP arrival and departures in Juneau in the early 1990'. Alaska today uses more than 50 different RNP processes at 19 aerodromes throughout the National Airspace System (NAS). It says it is dedicated to finding ways to improve take-off, arrival and land operations and has been an example of how best to disseminate PBR throughout the NAS, as the FAA is currently doing with its NextGen programme.
Alaska' s 737 aircraft base is fitted with incorporating proprietary avionic technology, enabling it to handle any available process, even RNP AR, according to Alaska Airlines RNP engineers and designers, according to Alaska Airlines CEO RNP Piper John Hargreave. Largreaves estimated that Alaska would save about 500,000 galons per year by using RNP AR and PBN, which reduces mileage and reduces the amount of petrol consumed.
Alaska' s air traffic management teams focus on adapting the approach to certain areas of the terminals. Soon after the RUP process went into operation, planes within Alaska's Alaska Air Group were the only ones to arrive in Sun Valley during a snow storm on December 25. Consideration is also being given to the role of the airline's own fleets, such as how the new Embraer E-175 in Horizon Air - Alaska's local look - can be integrated into Alaska's RNP programme.
The new Virgin America A321 planes to be incorporated into Alaska's commercial air transport network will also feature full PBN and RNP AR support. The Alaska Airlines alliance with NASA also enables new air traffic control options. Both are working on the TASAR routing optimisation tool, which can help to provide pilot with real-time routing optimisation.
Alaska' s objective is to use TASAR to analyse automatic air space datasets that allow real-time routeing or elevation changes due to changes in winds, transport pattern, turmoil and more. Alaska' Boeing is also equipping the 737s with third-generation multimode receiver (MMRs) - an upgraded version of the 737, which opens up satellite-based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) and ground-based augmentation systems (GBAS).
FAA described GBAS as a terrestrial base able to make adjustments to aeroplanes near an aerodrome in order to enhance the precision and reliability of the aeroplane's navigation positioning. In contrast to the ILS (Instrument Lander System) - which needs one per system flight rate - a GBAS needs only one FM allocation for up to 48 unique approaches, the airline says.
The global use of Gigabit Ethernet (GBAS) and SBAS is relatively low, but increasing. Pioneering RNP approach, Alaska could quickly become a leader in the use of SGAS and SBAS.
