SEATTLE, February 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] Business Jets (BBJ) celebrates its first two BBJ 787-8 shipments in 2014. Shipments made last weekend to individual unnamed clients represent the second and third BBJ 787 aircraft supplied to date. "It' fantastic to see two BBJ 787s delivering within a week," said Captain Steve Taylor, Boeing Business Jets Chairman.
"BBJ 787 is joining the BBJ familiy, a complete line of the most powerful aircraft in the executive jet world. Combining stunning cruising ranges, high cruising speeds, low cab heights, large window sizes and low-noise cabs, the 787 is perfect for BBJ customers." BBJ 787-8 has a cruising distance of about 9,260 sea mile ( 17,150 km ).
"The first BBJ 747-8, which we supplied last year, will be commissioned with the finished customized interiors during the course of the year in parallel with the delivery of three more BBJ 787-8s." First BBJ 787-8 was shipped in December 2013. So far, 13 BBJ 787s have been ordered by our clients and shipments will continue until 2018.
The aircraft is delivered by Boeing Business Jets to the customer without any painting or interiors. The Boeing Business Jets offer a large selection of ultra-large cabins and long-haul aircraft perfect for the personal jets sector. Specifically, the BBJ, BBJ 2 and BBJ 3 - high-performance derivates of the commercial next-generation 737 and 737 MAX families - as well as Boeing's two-stage aircraft, which include the 747-8, 767, 777 and 787.
