Book Taxi in Advance
Taxi booking in advanceOver starts scheduled trips, so that you can (finally) book a vehicle in advance.
The majority of us don't think about ordering a Uber until about 10 mins before we need a Uber, but this might be changing with the latest ride sharing features. Über has promised that it will introduce scheduled trips, which does exactly what you think it does: it allows a user to plan a pick-up anywhere from 30 min to 30 d in advance.
Russell Dicker, a Uber chief of products, posted in a newsmagazine: "The We' ve been told by our drivers that sometimes they want to make an appointment in advance so they can be sure that a Uber is available when they need it, even if it is for a 4 o'clock drive to the terminal.
Scheduled Rides will soon be extended to other "Top Corporate Centres ", although Uber has not yet announced which towns it will place in the "Top" categories, nor published any concrete appointments. Dicker says Uber for Business is giving prioritized entry to clients and drivers with businesses profile.
Planned trips are only available through the UberX offers of the application, and the user can specify their pick-up preference (in 15 minute increments), position and destinations. There will be a 24 hour warning and a second 30 minute warning before the pick-up. Drivers can modify their position information up to 30 min before the planned pick-up pick-up pick-up pick-up pick-up pick-up pick-up pick-up or completely refuse the trip.
Even though Uber provides a quote at the moment of travel, this is not a way to entirely prevent the feared increase in fares; when a rider is sent, Uber sends a warning that also informs the rider whether the increase in fares is effective. Wired says the drivers then have five and a half minute to either agree to the increase or cancels without punishment (and then crawl to call a taxi).
When some of these phrases ring trustworthy, it might be because Lyft almost three months ago had its own timetable function advertised. Speaking in a blogs posting entitled "Introducing scheduled rides" (which includes a mesmerizing early morning drive to the airport), Lyft said it would begin to test planned trips in San Francisco before possibly providing services to drivers in other towns.
Lyft's Scheduled and Uber's Scheduled Rides differ greatly in the fact that Lyft's choices are even shorter: Drivers can currently only plan journeys between 30 and 24 in advance.
