British Airways
American AirwaysBA is the airline[6][7] and the biggest carrier in the United Kingdom in terms of fleets or the second biggest after easyJet in terms of transported passenger numbers. BA joined Iberia in January 2011 and established the International Airlines Group (IAG), a Madrid, Spain-based parent bank.
The BA was formed in 1974 after the British authorities set up a British Airways Board to run the two UK carriers British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European Airways and two local carriers, Cambrian Airways of Cardiff and Northeast Airlines of Newcastle upon Tyne. All four undertakings were amalgamated to create British Airways on 31 March 1974.
This airline grew with the acquisitions of British Caledonian in 1987, Dan-Air in 1992 and British Midland International in 2012. BA, a long-standing Boeing client, ordered 59 Airbus A 320 Families in August 1998. the headquarters of British Airways. London Heathrow Airport is British Airways' primary hub, but Gatwick Airport is also strongly represented.

The South African Comair and the Danish Sun Air of Scandinavia have been British Airways France since 1996. 65 ][66] British Airways acquired a 15% share in the UK based short-haul carrier, flybe, from the divestment of BA Connect in March 2007.
British-airways Limited was formed in 2012 to operate the London City Airport to New York JFK Premier Services. In September 2009, BA started operations with two Airbus A318s equipped with 32 berths in a single compartment of Airbus Cargo City. 75 ][76] The services were again directly provided by British Airways plc in 2015.
Under the British Airways World cargo trademark, British Airways offers freight forwarding service. For the British Airways Plc Group, the most important developments are presented below. British-airways runs airside lounge facilities for travellers traveling in luxury staterooms available to certain levels of Executive Club members. 171 ] In 2011, British Airways announces changes to the Executive Club due to the fusion with Iberia to optimise airline to airline integrations.
