and from Charter headquarters in Stamford, CT. Charters is planning new headquarters in Stamford Charters Communications will be celebrating the completion of a new 500,000 square feet main office block in Stamford, Conn. to create 1,100 new workplaces next year in exchange for government fiscal stimulus and credit of approximately $20 million. This 15-story facility will be at Gateway Harbor Point and is scheduled for completion in 2019.

Construction and State Technology, a Connecticut-based property development firm, will erect the buildings to suite complex at 406 Washington Blvd. Immediately after the city of Stamford has finally approved the use of the site, the foundation stone will be laid. "Charter has become the second biggest US wire and cable operator since its headquarters moved from Charter to Stamford in 2012," said Tom Rutledge, Chairman and CEO of Charter, in a declaration.

"Charter will be able to draw on this new state-of-the-art centre in Stamford city centre to give it the necessary resource to grow further. Looking forward to further expansion in Connecticut, we thank Governor Malloy, Mayor Martin, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and the Stamford Area as a whole, the national, state and community delegations of elective civil servants for their continuing partnerships and assistance.

" After Rutledge took the wheel, Charter moved to Stamford from St. Louis, Mo. and leased a 15-story property on 400 Atlantic Ave. in the inner cities of the town, approving the creation of 400 new employment opportunities. Charter has committed to adding 1,100 new business locations to the new facility and has pledged to make a $100 million investment in Connecticut over the next few years.

The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development will make an incentive plan available as a result of these pledges, which will include a $10 million immediate credit and up to $10 million in taxes. Supplementary income taxes will be available if Charter further enhances the number of Stamford workplaces.

"Gov, today is a great Connecticut day," Dannel P. Malloy said in a declaration. "The Charter's commitment to creating an extra 1,100 employment shows that our policy investment continues to drive the economy and generate well-paid employment in the country. Looking forward to the further prosperity of Charter Communications as they continue to thrive within the state.

" Gateway Harbor Point was selected because of its closeness to public transport and good connections to Interstate 95. It will be the first commercially viable building with immediate accessibility to Stamford railway stations so that staff can immediately use both Metro-North and Amtrak Acela.

There are also large layouts in the structure that allow greater versatility in terms of job layout. Cushman & Wakefield's Cushman & Wakefield business unit acted for Charter in the deal.
