Alwaysgreen Taxi Warning at the International Airports - Juneau Forum
Get into an evergreen taxi at Juneau Airport. Note that there were other taxis behind him -- so I got out of the cab, and yes, I confess I gave him a sign to show that I disagreed with his use. Luckily, however, we have Mike, who is the best taxi rider in Juneau, and no, he's not at Evergreen.
If you arrive there, I think a client is a client, and if you have to calculate a waiting period, then so be it. There is an unspoken rulebook at the airports for how the cabin system works and you shouldn't have got into a taxi until you were willing to drive.
If he turned the counter around, it still screws up the system (which is essentially "get your ride and get out of here"), even in a small place like Juneau. Since the rider was new, he obviously didn't know how to handle the issue and dealt with it very poorly.
When I was in Juneau, I took a taxi here 40 years ago, for the first times I was told this regulation at the international airports. Once they have modified the regulations at the airports, they should position them so that everyone can see them. I did not know that the Normal Cab in Juneau regulations would indeed be complied with, but if they do so now - I agree.
Mr President, I wanted to alert others to the fact that these regulations are now being complied with at the airports so that they can prevent this from happening. Juneau is being redesigned, as I found out 10 nights ago when we were flying home......after we picked up our luggage, we used the telephone bank inside to call the hotels shuttle.......then we went outside in the darkness to find out that the place where we're normally picked up is now behind a fence................. wait.
A taxi operator (gave us her name) would be outside and wait for us. We had a relatively bad break-in into our house and drove to us by taxi as there were no taxis. Contributions that do not comply with our policies will be removed, and we retain the right to delete any contribution for any reasons.
