Without the tedious, advanced workout plan, a beginner placed in a jet with almost any type of explanation would die very quickly. Matters - nasty things - occur very quickly in a jet - & few jet engines award a lot. In spite of their natural velocity, it is quite simple to bring a jet corporate jet to a standstill in regular flying, let alone a fighter.
Skilled fighter planes fly fighters with trained lightness - trained lightness. Sometimes even then they still get killed because a fighter tries to slay you every second you're inside - and that means to sit on the floor. When you have the experiance, it's not overly complicated, it's just a very bustling multitasking managment activity, but if you don't, it's a place in a row to hell.
According to other responses, a fighter's aim in aviation is not to bring it from A to Ba, but to use it. As soon as you get through your basic education, it is generally considered that you are perfectly in system operations, takeoff, land, navigation, instrumentation, formations, air refuelling (two things most other flyers in the worlds never consider), etc.
We in the Air Force used to call these things "motherhood" (extended in the Airplane Handbook and Manuals, but known to all). "He ( she ) has just completed the whole mission, except the strategic part, in 10 seconds. During the next session of the training there was the "fighting" part, the cause why everyone flies at all.
It is an endless trial to know how to keep a fighter well occupied. "Are you having trouble studying how to fly a fighter plane? "No! In additon to the very good replies I've been reading here, I was informed by an F-105 pilot that it' not hard to fly and he could be teaching me to fly it in about an hours or so!
Only a few years later, when the Vietnam Wars raged, the Luftwaffe needed tens of millions more pilot, and many of the commanders and commanders I knew became colleconel. There was a significant fluctuation in the number of aircraft in service in addition to those doing their regular duties! Remember car crashes, but in a fighter plane the land and take-off speed is higher than you can achieve in most automobiles.
Combat planes are about as heavy as an 18-wheeled vehicle, but 40 ft broad, 50 ft long! Patrick Binder and I fully endorse that the most difficult thing to do is think in front of the jet. When we went through Navy flying practice, we had boys who had 200 knots of brain trying to fly 500 knots, and they often had problems.
Helping non-pilots figure out what it means. - Almost all jet aircraft have (much) higher stall and land velocities. In the beginning (e.g. for the MiG 15 training) the jet fighter trainings with prop aircraft were begun and the accidents were very high when the cassettes began to fly jet fighters. 15. It' not too hard to fly a fighter, is it?
However, you have to be cautious, because the failure rate is much lower than studying a compliant plane. Definitely what is hard after you learn to fly is to learn how to fly and deploy a fighter in a strategic battlefield, both air-to-air and air-to-ground.
Whilst many are able to teach fighter planes to fly and they may fly well, only a percent learns to fly them as they are conceived and suited for their various challenging fighting operations.
