Linear Jet
Straight beamFurther benefits of the VLJ include a lower draught and high pile draw, making it an attractive option to propulsion or blasting.
VOITH Linear Jet Integrator
VOITH Linear Jet (VLJ) is a combination of the best characteristics of a propeller with the best characteristics of a water jet. One of the most important requirements for this type of lubricant is to achieve high efficiencies over a broad operational envelope while at the same time slowing the start of cavity formation. To find the best form that suits the client's requirements, a geometrical parameter dataset (tunnel length, level of incorporation, etc.) is generated and used in a simulation-driven, high automation work flow.
This parameter is modified at the same speed as the variable pitch of the rotors, stators and nozzles. In this way it is ensured that the fuselage form and the VLJ fit together perfectly. Supplementary parameterized supporting geometrical shapes are generated for the block-structured cross-linking processes. On the basis of this geometric model, the cross-linking processes can be fully automatic for use in study designs and form optimization.
In fact, the net itself has high densities in areas of interest such as front and rear edges and the gaps between jet and tip. Simulation runs on the VOITH Turbo HPC-System. VOITH Turbo's enormous computing capacity as well as its automatic multi and rugged geometric designing processes allow VOITH Turbo to examine a large number of different VLJ system types in order to select the best possible VLJ system designer for the client.
