It is easiest to start your application by calling us on 020 8088 1230 and making an appointement and we will take you through the application procedure. Bring your health form to your family doctor or make a booking to visit one of our doctors. As soon as all required form are completed, we will review them for you and then you can send them to us and settle the license fee.
By e-mail and mail, you are invited by TÜV Rheinland to take the topographic competence test, call 0343 222 4444 and take a test at a test center of your choosing. Our services include classroom trainings, 1 to 1 classroom trainings and on-line trainings. Take your test beautifully and early and use all the skill you have learnt in your workout and take your topographic skill test.
Common driving licence
The Cheshire East Council will issue a combination driving licence allowing both Hackney Carriage and Hire Vehicles to be driven. One license has a term of 3 years. The Council has a responsibility to make sure that all authorised riders are fit for the job, so that each claimant is subject to police records, health examinations and a test of competency.
At Cheshire East it is very important that anyone wishing to become a licenced rider knows all the Council's needs before starting any part of the application procedure (including all official qualifications). Completion of the application procedure does not constitute a guaranty that an application will be upheld. In order to become a JD, you have to do this:
Candidates must either have the Btec Levels 2 Certificate in the Introductory Course to the Professional Taxi and Passenger Driver or NVQ Levels 2 Certificate in Road Passenger Transport (Taxi and Passenger Driver) or attend a course before enrolling.
A license is only awarded once the BTEC has been successfully completed and the certification has been validated. The purchase of either the BTEC or the NVQ does not constitute a warranty that a license will be obtained. Every proposer must also convince the Council that he is a suitable individual.
Requests shall also be decided by the General Authorisation Subcommittee of the Council. Send a filled application form: Have your family physician perform a Group II check-up. You only need to complete this on a Cheshire East Health Form. Under the Act, the Rat is obliged to grant licenses only to persons who can prove that they "have the right to work in the United Kingdom in the taxis". If you are a taxidermist, please make available documents from Schedule A or Schedule B (PDF, 276KB) showing that you have the right to work in the UK within the framework of the taxis.
Candidates must take a theoretical test consisting of a test of Cheshire East region skills and taxi legislation related issues (see information below). It is expected that the applicant has sufficient information on the district before an authorisation is granted.
Drivers must hold a licence issued under Part III of the Road Traffic Act 1988 for a minimum of 12 month periods (including UK and EEA licences). In order to check this and validate any endorsement or disqualification, you must fill out the Permission to Drive Agreement Form (PDF, 156KB), which allows us to call the DPLA for further information.
Failure to fill in this form with your application will result in your application being refused as incomplete. To fill out your form, you must determine how many types of ID you need. From 8 January 2018, you must personally file your filled in application form and the necessary documents with one of our customer service centres by arrangement.
Checks must be paid to the Cheshire East Council. To make an appointment please call Cheshire East Customer Services at 0300 123 5015. From 18 September 2017, a new checked and sent services will be available for shared driver and vehicle use. Well, the point of this job is: Applicants who do not receive the services must be cognizant that this may lead to a delayed handling of their application if the information provided is not accurate.
Use of the Check-and-Send Services may be quicker than submission of an application, but use of the Check-and-Send Services does not warrant that you will be licensed. There is a 10 pound charge for this one. and is available at the Customer Support Centers. It' s up to each and every application where they decide to take the course.
