Application form for private rental of motor vehicles

Rental car license for private use

It is not possible to rent private cars on the road or at taxis. Non-observance is a criminal act and will invalidate the vehicle's coverage. The rates for private rental cars are not governed by the Council - travel costs are usually calculated on a per kilometre basis or should be arranged with the business prior to travel.

Privately hired vehicles approved by the Council must carry a sign on the back and smaller interior windowstickers. In terms of model, dimensions and styling, your vehicle is suited for use as a private rental vehicle (see specification). Is your vehicle mechanized? Proof of mechanic fitness must be provided by a thorough service at the owner's cost by a named workshop or other vehicle service company.

Fill in and sign the repairer' s certificate of completion, and confirm his signing and qualification by adding the name and adress of the workshop with a company seal. For a recently purchased vehicle, a repairer' s statement that the vehicle has been purchased will not be acceptable.

Cars are covered for private rentals. It is your responsibility to stop and operate the vehicle alone or in cooperation with other people. They have been sincere in providing information to us and under no circumstance may they make a misrepresentation to obtain your driver's license.

Today there are many different makes and models of cars on the street. However, not all cars would be appropriate for use as a private rental car and the Council has therefore adopted some norms to inform owners of the car model deemed appropriate taking into account considerations of amenity/security and the aforementioned statutory requirement.
