Sri Lankan Airlines First Class

Sri Lanka operates a total of five of these aircraft. Ceiling & Seats SriLankan Airlines Business Class Cabin During this travelogue, I took the Business Class in an Airbus A330-300 with SriLankan Airlines (UL) from Male International Airport (MLE) on the Maldives to Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Qatar via a stop at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) near Sri Lanka's capitol Colombo. The SriLankan Airlines is a medium-sized carrier operating an entire Airbus portfolio of 13 A330 widebody and 10 A320/A321 small jets.

Offering a great on-board offering, the operator occupies a great team. The report refers only to Sri Lanka's latest Business Class aircraft, available on all A330-300 aircraft. Older A330-200 aircraft have a less stunning seating (albeit with flat-bed seats). My fare was 1350 Euros for a Business Class sightseeing tour from Frankfurt to Male, which was directly posted on the website of SriLankan Airlines.

Among the reason why I decided to go to Sri Lanka (apart from the price) was the flawless security, where there has not been a single or serious incident since the launch in 1976. However, my itinerary included two stops, one in the Middle East (SriLankan Airlines operates codeshare with Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways after cancelling most of its flights to Europe) and one in Sri Lanka itself.

Meanwhile, the route was via Doha, with Frankfurt-Doha and Doha-Frankfurt being served by a new A350 aircraft from Qatar Airways (the other routes were of course handled by SriLankan Airlines itself). If you are arriving in the Maleives and are not spending the night in the North or South Male Atoll, you will need to take a different airfare - either a floatplane or a inland airfare - to get to your destination.

The two routes (Male to Colombo and Colombo to Doha) were served by the same two-class A330-300. As with all A330-300s in the Sri Lankan Airlines family, this A330-300 was equipped with the latest Business Class addition, far exceeding the old A330-200 onboard. Altogether 28 Business Class seating units are situated in a single cab behind the dashboard.

Seven lines with 4 Business Class seating in each, all with full corridor entry and plenty of private space through 1-2-1 orientation (a fishbone layout). Business Class side seating is inclined towards the front opening (approx. 2 per seat), while the central seating is inclined towards each other.

IMHO, this is the best Business Class seating arrangement ever and the following airlines provide a similar seating arrangement: B777-300ER Business Class New York nach Londres. <font color="#ffff00">American Airlines B777-300ERReview: The Cathay Pacific A330-300 Business Class Doha after Hong KongReview: B777-300ER Business Class Hong Kong to BeijingReview: From Qatar Airways B787 Business Class Brussels to DohaReview:

Business Class seating has the same characteristics: On one side of the chair is a large side closet with mirrors and enough space for your own items. There' s a read lamp, including the seating controller, a radio transmitter for the amusement system and a mains socket.

The side of the chair also has a large work space that conceals the large, fold-out serving desk so you can dine and work at the same work. There is an Oceanic foot rest in front of the chair, under the monitor, which is part of the full size shallow lying frame when the chair is lowered.

A large display (15. 4-inch or 40 cm) pivots out of the side of the seating group walls. Which are the best business class seating on UL's A330-300? It' always difficult to pick the best place on a plane for more than one traveler. Unaccompanied passengers should decide in favour of windows.

When you travel with escorts, you can select all windows in a row, or you can select a couple of centrechairs. Honestly, the medium sized chairs are really not so good for travels with a spouse because they are so personal that you are leaning too far forward to have a conversation.

Which are the toughest business class seating on UL's A330-300? It is also suggested to skip the last line of business class (row 7), which is located near the economy cabin places. Interestingly, the windows in the 7th line lack a single one. On the other hand, there was no comfort package, probably due to the limited flying time (one minute from Male to Colombo and 4.30 minutes from Colombo to Doha).

There was a complete menu offer on the brief one-hour trip from the Maldives to Sri Lanka. From Colombo to Doha the plane included a start, albeit a mix plate with Arab mezze. Reception was available on a Thales AVANT onboard system with the latest Hollywood and Bollywood blockbuster entertainments as well as some classic ones with over 50 TV stations, 120 films, an expansive CD archive with radios and music.

There is no walk-in counter in the Business Class cab. You' ve also been reading my other SriLankan Airlines reports.
