Means of transport - Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce

It' s simple to explore the island with your own cars,, and your own foot. You may or may not want to take a rental vehicle with you, according to where you are and how much of your stay you want to be. In order to get your vehicle to the island, you must make a booking with the Steering Authority well in advance of your journey.

BusesMartha's Vineyard is home to the Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA), which provides a complete system of busses connecting all cities: Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, Aquinnah, Chilmark and West Tisbury. The frequency of the trips depends on the time of year, but the busses run on a regular and reliable basis throughout the year and are an inexpensive way to see the island's natural beauties.

There are many group and individual travel agencies to help you see the beauties of Martha's Vineyard. The busses on the trip are usually situated at the steamboat terminals and most other arriving boats and often leave at regular planned outings.

Individual group trips are another optional in cars. Sightseeing flights are offered to give you a bird's eye-view of the island, and beautiful, told walks give you detailed information about cities and interesting topics. Bike The Martha's Vineyard Islands are extreme bike-loving. Two bikes can be all you need with signposted cycle routes all over the islands and bike rides that show the beauties and intrigues of the isle. Iceland also has bike retailers, bike rental companies and bike workshops to satisfy all your needs on two-wheelers.
