Very Light Jet Cost
Extremely low beam costsLight jets - an outline
Looking at emergent aerospace market developments, the personal aerospace market will grow tenfold over the next twenty years compared to what the aerospace market has seen over the last 50 years. Extremely light aircraft (VLJs) are on the verge of becoming a reality and will affect all facets of personal flight, from full possession to fragments of aircraft, charters, jet charts and the upcoming aerial taxis market.
Jet-Alliance's roll-out is already running with the shipment of the first very light jet into a break-up programme. Weighting less than 10,000 lbs, a VLJ can be certificated for individual use. They can be known as microjets, staff nozzles and mini-jets. VLJ producers have already begun delivering the planes and, according to some projections, are expecting over 15,000 such planes by 2015 - an amazing number considering that only 750 privately owned planes were delivered around the world in 2005.
Predictions are essentially supported by the (comparatively) reasonable advance and operating cost of a VLJ. This cost is lower because progressive lightweight composites production, state-of-the-art digitale electronics and smaller but highly effective power plants produce about 1,700 lbs of thrusts and weigh only 100-200 lbs.
The Very Light Jets usually have a flying distance of a thousand mile, a maximum velocity of 340 to 420 Knots and can carry 4 to 7 people. These cost between $1 million and $3.6 million, while a light aircraft can cost between $4 million and $8 million. The Embraer Phenom 100 (above) from Embraer of Brazil, with 4 - 6 seating, will cost about 3 million dollars and is expected to be delivered in early 2008.
Adam's $2.3 million A700 (see below), which originates from the 500, has orders for about 300 aircraft and is scheduled to begin shipping in 2007. For a more complete listing of VLJ's likely to begin shipping in the next two years, see the following chart. The use of a VLJ or other personal aircraft can help you to spare the effort of long safety controls, delayed flights, cancellation and cancellation and you can eliminate the need to spend your time in the terminal lounge before getting on.
Whether you charter a jet, are fully owner-occupied, or have a Jet Creditcard membership, a privately held jet allows you to avoid these delay and take advantage of the luxuries of having an elegant, fast and select flight at all times. Find out more about the full advantages of privately operated flights in our previous review.
By rolling out Virtual LJs and their significant cost benefits across all types of home aviation, we anticipate that they will have a major influence. The year 2007 is only the beginning of this move.
