The last times I reviewed "over the counter" point-to-point tariffs on practically all US inland lines (a few years ago), they were significantly lower than the "Visit North America" tariffs, which are determined by the route travelled (different "bands" of 0-500 mph, 501-1000, etc.).

As an example, one way from BFS to New York is under $200 on most carriers; if I remember rightly, the equivalent Besuchen NA Pass ticket was nearly $350.
