Globeair air taxi services achieve Europe-wide recognition
Globeair's air taxi services have seen an increase in the number of take-offs in the last 12 month and believe that this is part of a larger change in the commercial aircraft sector. In 2016 and the first trimester of 2017, the airline recorded significant revenue gains with a 31 per cent increase in the number of flight movements in the first trimester of 2017 over the same 2016 timeframe.
However, Globeair considers that this indicates a wider geographic area. There has been a dramatic increase in the number of take-offs of very lightweight planes in Europe in the last 12 month, although the number of medium and heavier planes has decreased. Combined with new research on the declining number of privately owned planes available for purchase in Europe and the number of privately owned planes shipped to Europe, the airline considers that more individuals are opting not to buy or own their own planes but to rent or take an air taxi instead.
Recently, the airline bought two more Citation Mustang jets to expand its 16 aircraft family. In comparison to the past, it is noteworthy that not only large companies, but also large companies and young start-ups are increasingly using the air taxi sector. Globeair's three departing destinations with the largest growth in cross-border traffic were France, the UK and Switzerland, where take-offs rose by 19 per cent, 36 per cent and 5 per cent respectively in 2015.
Frgner described the choice of the Cessna Mustang Jet as a mixture of factors: Globeair also purchases its Mustangs on the second hand second-hand markets at good rates.
