Mac Air Tablet
Air Mac TabletThe 9in iPad Pro is now available in stores - check out our iPad Pro 12. Although it's known as the MacBook'Air', it seems to be the larger of the two, though not much - the iPad Pro is at 305. The MacBook Air is 6mm and only 6.9mm thicker, while the MacBook Air is 325 x 227mm and 17mm thicker.
For an iPad Pro to be able to take the place of a MacBook Air, it needs to be able to do everything a MacBook Air can do, and more. But the iPad Pro? The iPad Pro is characterized by a number of features in this area, but above all by its screen and sound.
iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch 9-inch touch screen with 2732x2048 pixels, giving it a 264ppi dot gain, while MacBook Air has a 13.3-inch shiny 1440x900 pixels screen, almost half the iPad Pro range - and the contrast is palpable.
Playing, viewing the latest TV and even surfing the Internet on an iPad Pro becomes a much clearer and more vibrant game. iPad Pro, on the other side, does not have two loudspeakers, but four, which help to create a "stereo sound stage", as described by Apple. It' really a more immersive gameplay or movie playing sensation, and while it's still not as basic as we'd like it to be, it's a tremendous enhancement over MacBook Air and earlier iPads.
A MacBook Air struggles with high-definition photo manipulation, while iPad Pro can edit three 4K natively streamed videos at once without decelerating, giving you an impression of its potential. The Apple Pencil is the iPad Pro's flag ship and was launched in September 2015 alongside the iPad itself.
Specifically developed for use with the iPad Pro, the pencil has a number of stunning functions, among them practically no delay in drafting. But that' s not all, because the pencil can also recognize different compression stages, which allow better shadowing and should help to create more lifelike pictures than before.
The tip of the stylus also includes two inclination transducers that measure the alignment of your palm, so you can tip and shadow the stylus just like you would a regular stylus to create the effect you want. It' also a winning piece in terms of styling - our affiliate Digital Arts had Pete Fowler, our designer and graphic designer, use the iPad Pro & Pencil, and he said: "In your hands it just felt fantastic" and that "it has a really beautiful weight".
It is a intriguing accessoire, even for those who have no art bones in their bodies (like us) and for 99 it is much less expensive than purchasing a graphic tablet. iPad Pro begins at £769 if you want the 64GB version, jumps up to £859 for 256GB and a full £1,039 for 512GB.
The 7in iPad begins at 339 pounds, its computing performance and graphics puts it in the same class as the MacBook Air. Do you just want a larger iPad for TV and games? But if you need USB-enabled everyday peripherals (such as flash drives), applications that aren't available on an iPad, or just a "do it all" system, MacBook Air seems the better choice.
