The Macbook AirThey use a cheaper "Eagle Ridge" thin-bolt processor that provides two thin-bolt 2 10 Gbps bi-directional channel than the MacBook Pro that uses a "Light Ridge" processor that provides four thin-bolt 4 10 Gbps bi-directional channel. There was a USB-Ethernet adaptor available immediately after launch and a Thunderbolt-to-Firewire 800 adaptor became available in mid-2012.
Apple launched an upgraded version in the same shape as its predecessor on June 11, 2012.
