According to the applicable laws, the Harlow Council is in charge of the registration of Hackney Carriage Cars (London styled taxi cars) and Harlow area personal rental cars. Hackney Carriage cars can be rented on the road or at any Hackney Carriage registered tier in the county.

Every privately rented car must be prebooked through a licenced carrier, an carrier must provide the customer with a car for his pre-booked itinerary.
