Introducing SriLankan Airlines
SriLankan Airlines (UL) launched self-service check-in terminals at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake. Developed specifically for airlines and airline travelers, the Self-Service-Check-in-Kiosk is a stand-alone computer interface that enables self-service check-in for one or more airlines. There is a user-friendly intuitive LCD display on the stand that allows clients to browse through the panelboards.
Via the newsstand, travellers can check in by inputting their ticket numbers/booking reference/FlySmiles member numbers or by scans of the bar code in the ticket. At SriLankan Airlines we have employees near the newsstands to help clients who need help with the check-in proces. Newest check-in options also allow travellers to choose and switch seat, input their FFP information, input traveller information by scan passports and printing embarkation cards.
Using the vending machine, those who carry only carry-on baggage can go directly to immigrant destinations, while those with checked baggage can leave their baggage at the Bag Desk Counter, which is just a few paces from the vending machines. The deployment of newsstands at alternative check-in points is expected to speed up transaction times and reduce traffic jams at airports' check-in desks.
