New York Jets 2000 Saison
New York Jets 2000 campaign was the team' s forty-first and the National Football League' league' s forty-third. She was also the first of Woody Johnson's properties to buy the squad from former owners Leon Hess in January 2000. They tried to break their 1999 8-8 records under new chief trainer Al Groh, who succeeded Bill Parcells after Bill Belichick stepped down suddenly to take the same New England Patriot post.
Even though they finished one match better than in 1999, their 9-7 records (including three defeats at the turn of the year) were not enough to make the play-offs. Soon after the end of the campaign, Groh retired as assistant manager to take up the post of chief trainer at the University of Virginia, his former ally.
Parcells soon resigned as Director of Football Operations and withdrew from the game. As with his earlier retirements, it turned out to be only transient and Parcells was back in the NFL in 2003 as chief trainer of the Dallas Cowboys. Jets were listed in NFL twelfth place in the overall action and ended in tenth place in the overall defence in conjunction with Philadelphia.
