I' d probably only go on foot if I didn't have too much baggage, less than 2 km 20min. So I went to Google and there were several buses available that would take about 20 min. to get there. If you have a large amount of baggage, your taxi choice seems quite inexpensive.

I work for Supershuttle in Miami. Courtyard Miami Airport offers a free shuttles from MIA to the airport. Simply leave the departures floor (2nd floor) and await the shuttles.
