With so many different factors in airplane ownership, it' s hard to tell exactly how much it will cost you to own an airplane. Do you fly how many flight hours a year? Are you going to allow others to charter it on a Part 135 certification? And if so, for how many hour?
We guide you through the cost difference between purchasing on-demand charter air travel and having your own airplane. Is there any point in purchasing a jet, or should you stay with Charter? You will probably find that renting a jet is less expensive if you just look at the cost per hour. We will use the following operating cost parameter for reasons of consistence, assuming that each airplane is funded at 80% of its sales value:
CJ2 has a standard cruising velocity of 463 mbph, which means that it would directly take 225 hrs to travel 100,000 mile.
