How to Upgrade

In case your unit has an older OS you have to return it to the Ectaco Customer Support Centre to download the new one. From the main menu, choose Settings. From the Settings section, touch Instrument Info, and then search for the firmware number. Initial numbers before the period represent the OS release.

Back up ALL your computer's data on your machine, as they may be removed during the "??" upgrade procedure, and you will be able to download all your data once the upgrade is over. Recharge the unit fully. Do not authorize the unit. From the main menu, choose Settings. From the Settings section, touch Unauthorize the machine.

Ensure that there is over 40 megabytes of free disk storage on your machine. To verify this information, please go to Settings -> Instrument Info -> Storage Area. ATTENTION: For units with OS 48 and above, the upgrade is done in two stages. In the case of units with OS 49, the upgrade is done in one single operation.

Duplicate the extract data contained in jumpcupdate. am using a memory cartridge adapter or the SD/microSD memory cartridge in your computer to a memory cartridge. When you have updated from 38 to 48 (inclusive) releases, make sure your machine is using OS 49, and then follow the steps in 2. Please load down the self-extracting file JBC_12_10_10_12_12_SPANISH. executable and unzip it afterwards.

Plug the µSD micro SD memory cartridge into the unit (pins on top). Updating begins. Updating the software can take up to 30 min, so be careful until the upgrade is complete. Please restart the unit before starting the new one. Once successfully completed, the main menu will be displayed according to the new release.
