Rental cars cannot be used to rent, be on a cab or be welcomed on the road. Recordings of reservations made with privately rented cars must be kept by the landlord. Everyone who wishes to license a car as a Shropshire Council Privately Rented car must either obtain or own a Shropshire Council Privately Rented car license OR can demonstrate through the application forms that they intend to work for a Shropshire Council Privately Rented car license.

In case part of the application is not complete or the fees have not been payed, the application will not be dealt with until all information/documents are available. After expiration of a license it cannot be extended any more. No " mercy days" for licenses. Prolongation requests submitted after the expiration date will be treated as new car requests.

In order to allow uninterrupted movement, an application for renewal of the licence must be submitted at least 10 workingdays before its expiry in order to allow adequate processing and control by the European Parliament. Upon expiration of the license, you will not be allowed to use your car for personal rental work until you have the new license plate and license plate(s) affixed to the car in accordance with the terms of the license.

Do I have the right to request a new personal car rental license? Applicants for approval of a road transport vehicles shall be the persons who are the lawful owners of the vehicles in question and who have the right to own and register the vehicles in accordance with the requirements of Regulation 10 of the 2002 Road Transport Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Rules.

Before and after licencing, sufficient proof shall be provided, if necessary, to prove the fulfilment of this condition.
