Following the closure of the stores on Monday, Boeing Co. for its Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) today reported that it has been awarded two contracts. Each of two undisclosed clients ordered an aircraft: a 737 BBJ and a BBJ 787-8. Boeing also obtained a lease engagement from a Chinese carrier and two lease companies for 60 of Boeing's 737 MAXs.
China's agreement covers Ruili Airlines, Minsheng Financial Leasing and Avic International Leasing. Its order is about $6. 1 billion to list prices according to Bloomberg Newsorth. Perhaps the more interesting of the two could be the Boeing and Boeing BP deals, not because of their sizes, but because it could indicate a trend reversal in Boeing's corporate aircraft spend on a sputter.
Boeing has received orders for 229 commercial aircraft and shipped 209 since 1996. Out of the total orders, 164 were for the company's BBJ and 158 of these aircraft were shipped. The aircraft still to be supplied include six new BBJs, two 737s, two 77s, two 77s, seven 787s and one 747-8, as well as the two new orders.
Gulfstream of General Dynamics Corp. strengthens the corporate jet aircraft segment. GD (NYSE: GD) got off to a good start this year before Qatar Executive announced an arrangement on Tuesday mornings to buy up to 30 of Gulfstream's corporate aircraft. Qatar Executive's order covers the new Qatar 500 and Qatar 600 from Gulfstream as well as the Qatar650ER.
Gulfstream's order book is allegedly estimated at 13 billion US dollars. List price for a $650ER is a designated $59.9 million to $65. One Boeing BBJ will cost about 65 million dollars, and the other Boeing aircraft are even more costly without the individual cabins. The order book at list price for Boeing aircraft is estimated at around 3.2 billion US dollars.
At the end of last year, Boeing named a new Chairman of its Corporate Jets Department and is planning to base its operations on the Group's 10 shipments in 2014 and the 13 aircraft supplied. During the first trimester of 2015, BBJ supplied one BBJ and two large aircraft, a 777-300 and a 787-8.
A number of aircraft are also available, distributed among the 18 completions centres in the USA and abroad, which carry out individual aircraft completions for Boeing's corporate clients. Last months the airline said that it was looking for opportunities for a combined freighter airliner, the Boeing Combi. "The aircraft would be a niche product for governments or industry clients who need to carry large items together with a technical assistance group.
However, the business has to find a first client before it can start to develop such an aircraft. Airbus also provides a number of commercial aircraft, which it calls the Airbus A3Js. Airbus today announces the ACJneo familiy following an order for an Acropolis A320neo from Acropolis aviation, a UK based provider of "discreet, tailor-made flight services".
" The Airbus has found that it has so far been selling 170 company jet aircraft. Although the commercial aircraft segment is not large, it is still expanding and the gains appear to be valuable. Gulfstream, Boeing and Airbus, all of whom are in competition for these high-dollar flights, may now be a good moment to begin purchasing the personal aircraft we have always wanted.
